If one drinks too much alcohol it can lead to the development of chronic disease and other serious problems such as:
High blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, liver disease, and digestive problems
Higher risk of cancer of the breast, mouth, throat esophagus, voice box, liver, colon , and rectum
Weakening of the immune system, which increases the chances of getting sick
Learning and memory problems, including dementia and poor school performance
Mental health problems, including depression and anxiety
Lead to addiction, alcohol use disorders or alcohol dependence
Smoking is detrimental to a healthy lifestyle
For every person who dies because of smoking, at least 30 people live with a serious smoking-related illness. Smoking causes cancer, heart disease, stroke, lung diseases, diabetes, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), which includes emphysema and chronic bronchitis. Smoking also increases the risk for tuberculosis, certain eye diseases, and problems of the immune system, including rheumatoid arthritis.
Secondhand smoke exposure contributes to approximately 41,000 deaths among nonsmoking adults and 400 deaths in infants each year. Secondhand smoke causes stroke, lung cancer, and coronary heart disease in adults. Children who are exposed to secondhand smoke are at increased risk for sudden infant death syndrome, acute respiratory infections, middle ear disease, more severe asthma, respiratory symptoms, and slowed lung growth.
Smoking can cause a range of detrimental things which can include death therefore it is detrimental to a healthy lifestyle.
Drugs being detrimental to a healthy lifestyle
One detriment of drugs is overdosing when a person overdoses An overdose is a biological response to when the human body receives too much of a substance or mix of substances. An overdose can be intentional or accidental. People can overdose on illicit drugs, alcohol, prescription medications, and many other substances. In many cases, overdoses are fatal, although most individuals who have overdosed can be saved if medical treatment is provided quickly enough. In terms of drugs, there are a few different ways your body can become overwhelmed by substances. However, the most common cause of death during any chemical overdose is respiratory failure.
When they try to withdraw from the drug they will find that they have become hooked and dependant on it, they will experience withdrawal symptoms such as cravings vomiting, restlessness or irritability, feeling angry or upset, poor sleep, headaches, joint and muscle pains, depression racing thoughts, seizures, and confusion
This will affect the healthy lifestyle and the balance of our health because of the taking of these drugs and will cause problems in the future.
