Personally, this was very memorable experience for me. This was my second time attending my troop held scout orientation camp but this time instead of being a clueless junior, I am now a experienced senior leading my Secondary 1 juniors. I remember during the camp that we were cooking with our patrol I was holding onto the spaghetti in hindsight I have should have just left it on the table but obviously I was not thinking this through and I dropped the spaghetti all over the floor. This was a mistake on my part and i thought to myself that I should not do anything unnecessary the next time. There were so many things that we had to do that I struggled with such as teaching my juniors how to sew the badges onto their uniform this was something I could not do, so I have made it a point to learn how to sew my badges myself so as to teach to my juniors. In this orientation camp we were the first batch to receive our troop scarfs and I was elated to receive it as it was a symbol that I am welcome in this troop and as a symbol of my dedication to scouts
One of the days we were doing an amazing race where we were given clues on where we had to go in the neighbourhood to get to these hidden places . Since we were not so familiar with the places around the school we had to take a longer time to reach our destinations . When we reached the destination we had to play some team bonding games to attained the riddle for the next place. We went to places such as the playground near Zhonghua Secondary School, playground at Lorong Liew Lain and the field outside of NEX mall. In the end we persevered and we were the last patrol to reach back to school but we still made it within the time frame. I think that it was a very fulfilling experience for me as I learnt how to lead my patrol in an outdoor exploration
