Know what to look for when choosing a campsite-
When choosing for a campsite we should look for places that are flat and dry. If the ground is rough there might be sharp objects poking through the tent that may cause discomfort or injuries to the camper. The camp site must also be dry to prevent damage low-lying land can also increase the chances of flooding so finding campsites with good drainage grass is good as the plants can help to absorb water reducing the chance for it to flood. Another variable is what is around you there might be trees with broken branches and it is important that you do not camp under trees in open areas to prevent damage to tents and injuries to campers.

Suitable campsite
Show understanding of the principles of camp hygiene and the importance of order and cleanliness in camp generally- Cleaning the campsite is important so that during the camp the camper does not get sick. A way that campers can keep their area clean is using camp gadgets by using these camp gadgets we can hang our clothes and shoes in an orderly manner so that the clothes do not have an odour and have a negative impact on the camper. Another way is to pick up rubbish and dispose of it so as to keep a clean and safe campsite this can prevent bugs and insects from coming to our campsite if there is food waste. There should be regular hygiene practices like bathing and brushing their teeth if any of these were to be skipped there would be foul smells and may cause discomfort to other campers
Demonstrate how to store food and equipment in an organised manner- For perishable food, it has to be wrapped in cling wrap or stored in an airtight container so as to not let the water from the meat contaminate the other foods. Canned food can be stored if they are in good condition and not expired. Unused food should be kept in containers and out of reach of animals such as monkeys and wild boars. Raw food should be separated to prevent cross contamination. Mess tins and cutting boards should be tilted down when drying so as to let excess water flow down and let it easier to dry. Equipment such as gas canisters should not be left out in the sunlight for too long and should be kept in the shade.
Construct on your own, 3 different camp gadgets of your choice
My patrol and I constructed the camp gadgets during my east area SLC camp
As a camp, cook for yourself and at least one other-- but not more than a patrol of 6 _ either a hot breakfast meal or one meal consisting of 1 main staple and 2 side dishes of your own choice.- I was the camp cook during my slc camp and I cooked dinner and lunch for my patrol for two days.
Have knowledge about the scout camping standards-
The camp to be well equipped with enough tents and good quality equipment etc: good quality pegs and the canvas for the tent not to be torn. There are also hygiene expectations like the facilities to be clean and well equipped etc: sinks to have soap so as to promote hygiene standards. There should be enough food for the camp so as to not let any camper go hungry or fall sick because of it .The camping should not be rough and should not have sharp or dangerous objects that cause any harm. There should be health checks before the camp so as to stop the spreading of infectious diseases that may harm the health of other campers.
